DEMBA BA: HAPPY WITH THE WIN

Having made his second start of the
campaign in our 3-1 victory at Norwich
City, Demba Ba was pleased with his
overall contribution to our first Premier
League away win of the season.
With Fernando Torres suspended, Ba
was chosen ahead of Samuel Eto'o to
lead the line at Carrow Road, and he
repaid Jose Mourinho's faith by
producing an impressive display and
causing the home defence all manner of
problems prior to his withdrawal 17
minutes from time.
Ba was unlucky not to have been
awarded a penalty inside the opening
few minutes of the game, and just
moments later he laid on the opening
goal of the game for Oscar.
'It was important as it gives us a lot of
confidence and now we have two weeks
to prepare for the next game,' said the
Blues striker.
'It was only a couple of hours before the
game that I knew I was playing but I
gave everything and I was happy with
how it went today.
'I always work hard to be ready when
the team needs me, that's why we're
here, especially the offensive players.
I'm happy I made the assist for Oscar
and I'm happy with the win.
'It was a tough game, they gave us a
really good match and we're really
happy because we responded.'
The 28-year-old scored six goals for the
Blues last season following his arrival
from Newcastle United in January, and
he believes he has plenty to offer when
his services are called upon.
'It's difficult to be left on the sidelines
but as I'm a professional, and a good
one, I always work hard and wait for
moments like this.
'It's all about giving 100 per cent and
showing that you should be picked for
the next game. I showed that and gave
my best and when I came off I was
happy with my performance.
